Feb 25, 2007 I picked up an old Wurlitzer cornet and the valves and slide all move freely and easily, but when I try to play it I can't get any sort of tone. Air is oging through but I just hear my lip buzzing sound out the other end, not a 'cornet' sound. I still have to clean it up, and I'm sure my technique sucks, but I've blown into a trumpet before and atleast gotten a trumpet-like sound, not just.
